Welcome to my blog.

Chen’s Chan is a playful pun on my name. My surname “陈” can be romanized as either “Chen” (Mandarin pinyin) or “Chan” (Cantonese). Meanwhile, “Chan” is also the English transliteration of “禅” (Zen/Chan Buddhism), which evokes contemplation and meditation. Thus, “Chen’s Chan” means “Chen’s contemplation” — my reflections on life. The Chinese homophone “陈思禅” carries the same meaning.
